Tank containers may display both a Size Type Code and an ADR Tank Code – both codes are 4 digits long and contain both alpha and numeric characters. The size type code is managed by the ISO and the ADR code is defined by the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). The vlog examines both codes and explains their purpose and how to differentiate between them.

of the IMO’s Code of Safe Practice for Cargo Stowage and Securing (CSS Code)
which seeks to improve maritime safety through better ship handling methods and
proper cargo stowage and securing methods. The vlog in particular looks at the Cargo
Securing Manual which under the code has to be available on all container carrying
ships.
